Getting to Know Us

Renaissance Elementary Charter School is celebrating its tenth year this 2008-2009 school year! The school first opened in August 1999 and currently has 500 students in grades K-5th that wear the school colors of red, white and blue with pride! In 2005 we opened our middle school, Renaissance Middle Charter School with 130 students currently in grades 6th - 8th. We are honored in achieving an "A" for the sixth year in a row in the Elementary School and another "A" in the Middle School! Our school family includes students, teachers and staff members from diverse cultures. You will be kindly greeted and will love the feel of your surroundings.

RMCS Celebrates Fleet Week

It was an honor for our 8th Grade Graduating class to be invited to "Fleet Week" in Port Everglades this year. The hands on American History lesson was an amazing experience. The students returned to school with a greater understanding of what our country has been through and how they can continue to make it great! We'd like to thank Ken Haiko, Chairperson, Renaissance Charter School Inc. Board of Directors, for the invitation and Ms. Mary Vecchione, Governing Board Liason, CSUSA, for making it happen!

International Food Fest

During our 6th Annual IFF we celebrated the diverse cultures that make up our spectacular REC/RMCS family! The teachers & students prepared magnificent presentations from around the world for our entertainment. Thank you to all the families for your continuous support to our beautiful school and our parent volunteers for making this a sensational evening!

Field Day Week

Enthusiastic! Exhilarating! That's how students feel at this event held at the J.C. Bermudez Park, in Doral. Each class competes with the students in their grade level. Competitions are held in jump rope, sack races, 100 meter sprint, obstacle course and dancing. Finally, classes compete against each other in the ultimate competition, Tug-A-War. RECS/RMCS provides pizza, juice and snacks to finish each day with a picnic. What a fun day!

This year our 5th grade students were invited to participate in The City of Doral's Parks & Police Department's Field Day in Doral Park on April 10, 2008. They competed against 5th grade students from our four neighboring elementary schools.
