Admission

The Renaissance Elementary Charter School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, religion or gender. It is the intention of the school to reflect the community it serves and be open to any resident in the Miami-Dade County Public School District who would otherwise attend an elementary school in Miami-Dade or Broward County.

Application Process

The Open Enrollment period for the 2008-2009 school year is March 1st through April 30. Applications will continue to be accepted after April 30, 2008. During the Open Enrollment window we received more applications than there are seats available in every grade level, therefore we will have a system generated lottery to determine admission. Once accepted, applicants are guaranteed their position and are not required to reapply annually.

Lottery:

A lottery will be held on May 16 to determine who will be admitted for the 2008-2009 school year. Applicants who applied during the Open Enrollment window of Mar 1 - Apr 30, will receive a letter notifying them of their lottery ID #. Once the lottery has been processed the results will be posted on the school website.

Parents are notified of lottery results within 15 days after the lottery. Applicants of currently enrolled students will receive a preference for admission.
